Try adjusting the "Local Echo" setting on your terminal program. If you are using the version of telnet that came with Microsoft Windows, the option can be found on the "Preferences..." dialog under the "Terminal" menu.

I'm new to this game, how do I play?
First, you should read the introduction on the Tempus web site. Then, once you have connected to Tempus, you should create an account and a new character, and type "newbie" once you have entered the game. This will take you to our semi-interactive tutorial. Also, don't be afraid to ask questions! Mudding is a social enterprise, and people expect it of newbies.
Ack! I just died! What do I do now?
When you die, you are transported to a spot in your place of residence. If you died far away, you probably should find a corpse retriever. The corpse retriever will, for a fee, transport your corpse into your arms. You can also have a friend pick it up or go find it yourself.
